About the Photographers

We are husband and wife wedding photographers based out of Overland Park, Kansas. We’ve been taking pictures for a combined total of nineteen years!

JP graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor’s of Science in Photography, and a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Throughout his education, he received several awards for his work in product, portrait, and fine art photography. As a student, JP worked for Alistair Tutton Photography. Alistair Tutton is one of the leading commercial photographers in Kansas City. JP’s emphasis in school was studio photography, and with this area of focus he mastered the complex, demanding techniques of studio lighting.

He applies these skills to his portrait photography to produce high-quality, professional photographs that capture the personality of the subjects. These two areas of study taught JP to not only understand the technical aspects of photography, but also the aesthetics of composition and design. Most photographers in our area have either no formal training or coin their work as “natural light” photography (which essentially means they don’t know how to use flash).

With JPShots, you will find a team of energetic, laid-back people who like to create a fun work environment. We capture senior photos, wedding photography, headshots, and family photography. We ensure clients are comfortable and have a positive experience, which makes us a great choice for working with any age, from young children to older adults. JP is meticulous with his photo editing. He demands only the finest work from himself and takes great pride in the polished images that he produces. His editing skills directly correlate with his advanced knowledge of printing processes. When you print your photographs through JPShots, you will receive perfect color on high-quality photo paper. We would love to hear about your personal photography needs!
